Joe and Katie asked us to create a new kitchen, boot room storage and front entrance door for their beautiful newly refurbished home in the Cotwolds. Their brief was an Oak Shaker style kitchen with a hidden handle detail. We made the handle detail by putting a 45 degree angle on the underside of the top rail on the doors to create a hidden pull handle. The doors had a stopped mortice and tenon for the joints, with a routered slot for the panel to sit into. We made sure to grain match the panels and the rails to ensure the grain follows through on all doors. We used Birch ply for the carcasses and finished it in Osmo oil.

Materials - European Oak doors, Birch Ply carcasses.

Finish - Osmo Satin

We used Birch ply for the larder unit and hand painted the doors in our workshop before installing them.
